		<description>Sometimes you can get away with just loosening the muffler bracket and bend the pipes out of the way. Remove the oil filter bolt while leaving the filter cover in place. It&#039;s gonna make a mess, but worth a try. Otherwise you&#039;ll have to loosen the header pipes.

1/15/07 - Bite the bullet and remove the entire exhaust system. If you&#039;ve never changed the oil filter on that bike, it&#039;s the easiest way to go. Take note as to the order and direction the spring, washer, filter  and metal cup go. Trying to re-install the oil filter, with the pipes partially blocking the oil filter hole, can be a major pain in the butt. Quit trying to save time. You&#039;ll just end up pulling your hair out. LOL</description>

You have to at least loosen, if not completely remove the exhaust.  Part of the trade-off that comes with changing from stock pipes on some bikes.</description>
