The monarchs of Europe were outraged at Napoleon's claim to the French throne and fought him nonstop for ten years. The third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh coalition were all fought by Napoleon in the defense of France and her liberated allies. Even the Peninsular war and the invasion of Russia were done in an effort to end the war against France. Napoleon was not the one that endangered France and drained its resources, it was the Britain that accomplished that.
